Hello,
I have a question about the vertical resolution of OSDome LiDAR.
In particular, the datasheet says that it has 180° vertival FoV and 128 channels, but 180/128=1.4°, therefore I don’t understand whether the reported number is correct or not.
Thank you in advance for your clarifications!
Best,
Marco
The 128 beams are distributed over a 90° FOV that is then scanned to capture the 180° hemisphere. See the image from the OSDome datasheet:
Ok now I understand, thank you!
So, basically, this is meant to be mounted on a ceiling/wall more than on top of a device/robot?
Thanks
It can be mounted however you like. A common use case for domes is mobile industrial robots in addition to ceiling/wall mounting.
