Factory reset Lidar

Hey i am currently using the velodyne vlp16 lidar. I am configuring my lidar, have followed the steps as per the manual. I am not able to access the 192.168.1.201 on my browser. Currently i am using the windows OS. I do not have the installation medium with me. I have also tried checking the ping with 192.168.1.201 but the response was destination host unreachable. Also tried the routing the ip address but no results.

Is there way where i can factory reset the lidar and start from the scratch.

There’s no option for a factory reset. If you don’t see any ethernet traffic from the sensor, please submit a technical support request at the following link:

Generally the “destination host unreachable” error means your computer’s network is not configured properly to talk to the target IP address. It likely has an IP address on a different subnet than the lidar.

You should make sure that your computer has an IP on the 192.168.1.XXX subnet on the interface connected to the lidar and that your subnet mask is set to something like 255.255.255.0 (aka /24).

thank you for your help. I figured out the problem, it had come configured with DHCP turned on. I reconfigured it.

How did you reconfigure it? I am having an issue with my VLP16 not connecting to any software and I can’t access the web UI, but I can ping the LiDAR.

ok , can let me know whats the ip address its showing , see if the dhcp is turned on the ip would be dynamic and you cant access you lidar . so the lidar has to set to some static ip .
you can use the wireshark , you will get to the know the ip .
